Prostate Biopsy

A Trans-Rectal Ultrasound (TRUS) guided prostate biopsy is a procedure in which small needle-core samples are removed from a man's prostate gland to be examined for the presence of prostate cancer. It is typically performed when the result from a PSA (Prostate-specific antigen) blood test is high or when a suspicious nodule is noted on exam.

The Center for Urology specializes in the careful administration of prostate biopsies. Our experienced providers and staff offer a generally pain-free experience with quick recovery times for patients. Some of the providers have created videos to further highlight the vasectomy process; see our YouTube channel for more information.
